Since Catherine re-emerged at Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon, there has been a growing but uneducated expectation that the Princess of Wales could return to full-time royal duties before the end of the year.
Sadly, that is very unlikely: Catherine remains seriously unwell, is continuing her chemotherapy treatment and, while she is very conscious of her role, her priorities have understandably changed significantly.
